Your problem may not be so much getting INTO Mexiso as getting OUT!

Most USA and Canadian citizens and even legal immigrants and residents can enter Mexico with pretty much just adequate proof of citizenship and good ID. However to RE-ENTER the USA from Mexico (or Canada), AFTER Jan 1st. 2007, EVERY person of ANY nationality (British, French, Mexican, Canadian, AMERICAN!) will require a valid passport! (look for MAJOR problems, I'll bet January 1st. at US border crossings will make New Orleans after Katrina look like a walk in the park!)

Definetley if you have your Green Card, which you said you do... I'm a citizen of Georgia (Gruzia in Russian) and I have a Green Card... i visited Georgia this summer and had no problems with only having Georgian Passport, my Green Card and a ticket... so go ahead... you're just fine...

Permanent Residents of the United States traveling to Mexico as Tourists


Do not need a visa to enter Mexico when departing from the United States. However, it will be required to present the following documents at the airport or port of entry into Mexico:

Valid passport (for at least 3 months)

USCIS Permanent Resident Alien Card (Green Card) valid for at least 3 months, or the USCIS stamp on the passport that establishes Permanent Residence in the United States until 3 months after date of travel)

US permanent residents traveling to Mexico from elsewhere but the US or Canada into Mexico may require a visa.

So, it looks like you can visit without a visa, but you will need your green card (I'm assuming 'cause you have your green card that you're a "permanent resident") and your Urkraine passport good for at least 3 months.

This is very easy. In fact, I am also going to Mexico soon from the US but I am not a US citizen. You have your PR right. You can get a Tourist visa, no problem. I believe with your PR card, you do not even need a Visa but if you are not sure, just visit the consulate.
