Has there ever been a cougar attack on a person in Manitoba ,Canada? think wildlife not bars lol thanx?

This will end a dispute me and my fiance are having she says there hasnt i say there has to have been one. "who's with meeeee"!

You might have to go back in the archives, Winnipeg is centerally located, in the areas up near Dauphin and Roblin in the areas around the provincial parks. I worked there in the 1980's for CP Hotels and did not hear of any.

Maybe there have been sightings, but attacks occur when they are hungry and food is scarce, the parks are large and not something they probably see much of, when I worked in Victoria, one was loose in the downtown area, got on to a boxcar from up in Campbell River and rode down a sleep and decided to take a tour of the city.

No Way..The mosquitos would have eaten them years ago..Coulda happened at the Zoo some time but that is the only place to find cougars other than bars and car shows

I would say in the period of the history of Manitoba there was probably at least one instance of it. If you're in a very rural foresty/wooded and/or northern area you can find them. I've seen some before but most of the time they wouldn't show themselves as they are usually more scared of us than we are of them. But, there are careless hunters out there and young kids that provoke wildlife, so I'm sure something has happened. HOWEVER, nothing would ever happen to you unless you majorly provoked it somehow. *put that slingshot away!!"

All in all, I'd be money on there have being at least on cougar attack in Manitoba in the span of its entire history lol.

(lol bar cougars!)

I'm guessing yes, cougars, although extremely uncommon in manitoba today flourished across all of canada before european settlement so at some point since the red river settlement 200 years ago i'm pretty sure there was

There are no records of present day attacks in Manitoba. However, the increasing poplulation of cougars/mountain lions has spread, with sightings in several areas where they were thought to be extinct, Nebraska, Minnesota, New York, Indiana, Arkansas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Ontario, and now Manitoba.
