How much of a notice do you have to give if you quit your job Manitoba?

Is it 1 week if you haven't worked a there a year & 2 weeks if you have worked over a year?

Please state your source.

The labour laws have just recently changed and I am not sure what the new law is....

Who cares about the laws,

I make more than enough money to support you. . . .

Read your employee handbook. Some companies have their own rules about giving notice. So check that first. I've noticed where I work is that the longer you give notice, like a months notice is better! Good luck!!!

I hadn't heard that the laws had changed. The "what's new" section was just updated in 2007, so I am unsure what you are referring to.

Here is the link where you can find the answer to your question-hasn't been updated since 2005 but if things have changed, that is where it will be:

In direct terms of your question,

Notice must be equivalent to the duration of one pay period (a 鈥減ay period鈥?is defined as a period of employment of no more than 16 consecutive days). (ss. 1, 61)

Where the term of employment is not fixed and wages are paid less often than once in each month, the notice of termination must be for a period of not less than 30 days. (s. 64)
