What is the best souvenir from New Zealand? |
What is the best souvenir from New Zealand? I agree with the hole Greenstone thing. But I wouldn't get a bone carving unless you really understand the culture and rules around it, as it is not something you can just put on and take off whenever you like. I was given mine (it must be a gift, you cannot buy one for yourself) about 16 yrs ago and I have never ever taken it off. Crate of kiwi's, issiiiittt! DAM THATS HARD A little lamb! The best souvenir.. An airline ticket out of there. Depends on how much you want to spend. I would go for the contemporary Maori crafts like genuine pounamu pendants or a feathered cloak. Photos of the spectacular scenery. Followed by a good Maori wood carving. I agree with the bone carving suggestion. Though my favorite new zealand souvenir was my Kirituhi tattoo at Ta Moko in Auckland. A kiss from Chelsea at Blix :) Possum nipple warmers!!!! Excellent. Paua jewellery is always nice, but not as fun as nipple warmers. A Colin McCahon print... All Blacks jersey... Pounamu carvings are special.. I could go on forever. kiwi's, lambs, dunno. |
