What can you tell me about Ringville/Ringvilla?

Something about its history, how is it like, the region, the county.

Located in Waterford County

Ring is officially a Gaeltacht, or Irish speaking area, but I don't think too many of the locals use Irish anymore. I think it's the only Gaeltacht in County Waterford.

It has become very built up in recent years, I remember that there were two villages on the peninsula, Ballinagall and Helvic, now those villages have grown so much that they are almost meeting.

Helvic was a Viking settlement originally. The name has a very Scandinavian feel to it.

I know of 4 beaches: the cove at Helvic (very stoney), Ballinagall beach, Poulafooka and the Cunnigar. The Cunnigar can be dangerous because the tide can come in very quickly.

There used to be live music in one of the three main pubs: Mooneys, Tigh an Cheoil on the way to Helvic from Ballinagall, and the one down near the pier at Ballinagall, I can't remember the name of it.

It's a nice place but I rarely go there anymore.

Oh, and on a clear day you have a fantastic view of the mountains of County Waterford from anywhere along the headland.
