Was the white house all was white? The White House has always been white- but it hasn't always been called the White House! For the first several decades of its existence it was called the "Presidential Mansion." It wasn't until about 1811 or so that it was even called the White House, and it took Teddy Roosevelt deciding it was a cool name to make it stick. yes no it was gray for a time |
