Question about metros in DC?

I am taking it tommorrow and was wondering if it is safe.

I will be getting on at 9 in the morning.

then I will be getting off at the zoo exit.

then i will be getting back on at 930 at night...

im scared :(

the Metro is perfectly safe

HINT: do NOT get off at the stop labeled the Zoo. go one stop further and get off there. One, the escalator to the surface is NOT a vertical 90 degree climb, and the walk is more level as well. Plus you walk by some really good restaurants.... it is about the same distance as the listed stop.

the bridge is being worked on, so there may be a need to cross the street in order to get to the other side.

Do not be scared. The Metro subway in Washington is safe. It is patrolled, there are security cameras, and the system was designed to be as safe as can be engineered.

You should be fine. I am a woman and take the metro all the time at night by myself. Of course you should always take precautions. Be aware of your surroundings, don't walk alone at night if you can avoid it, stay in well lit areas.

Every metro station is staffed until closing. When you get onto the metro, try to enter a car with other women if it makes you feel safer.

No worries, the zoo is in a pretty safe area as well.

The Zoo is actually a 10-15 minute walk from the Metro. You would be walking on Connecticut Avenue which is one of the largest streets and it is apartment buildings in that area with a couple of strip shopping areas and restaurants.

It is safe but keep aware of your surroundings.

WAWAWA!!!!!

ur such a freak
