How cold does it get in Washington, D.C. in February? (I'm from florida, so my idea of freezing cold is 50 :D) |
I'm going on February 21-23 You're looking at highs in the 40s, overnight lows in the 30s. It's going to be pretty chilly, and perhaps rainy that weekend. Dress in layers. For days like that I typically have a tshirt / a sweatshirt, sweater or fleece / and then a rainproof jacket. If you're going to be outside alot then I'd recommend taking gloves and perhaps a scarf. If you'll be walking quite a bit, think about two pairs of socks or a pair of wollen socks. 30 degrees Check the weather forecast in that area. If your idea of freezing cold is 50, I'd say bring a winter coat and long sleeves just incase. it might drop to around 30 or lower. well for me its like 15潞F at times and i live in missouri so definantly -0潞F at times i would think! http://www.weather.com/ Then it is going to be cold. I went to DC about the same time with my grade school class and a lot of time is outside, so I would really prepare by putting on lots of layers (you can always take them off). You are in for a real treat. its been above average here lately but its gonna be really cold by your standards. 21st: 39 degrees with some showers It depends this year it has been REALLY warm, like the 40's and 50's but sometimes it gets to zero. really?fifty is cold for you?fifty is warm for me cuz it's been really really cold lately. February is typically the coldest month around here, and temperatures sometimes get down to 0 F. With that said, it's been a relatively mild winter so far, with temperatures this month going up into the 60s at times. I suspect that you'll encounter daytime temperatures in the 40s and 50s, with evening temperatures dropping into the 30s. Take along any cold weather coat you may have, or wear a sweatshirt with a sweater underneath it if you don't have a heavy coat. That time of the year if fluctuates between the 20's and 40's... but you never know, last week it made it up to a high of almost 70 degrees and at it's lowest, it was in the teens with the wind chill ! it really depends on your luck. sometimes it can be 50-60 degrees in the middle of winter! but most likely, it will be COLD! make sure to double check the forecast, because once again, it really just depends on your luck. normally, i would guess it would be around 25-30 degrees, but if a cold front goes through, it could go down to below 20 degrees. also keep in mind wind chill-some windy days make it absolutely FREEZING! it snows here. In fact it snowed last weekend. i live kinda near d.c and the weather is pretty good like maybe 40s? but today its really nice :) |
