Information about Veracruz, MX?

I just started dating a guy from Veracruz & was wondering if anyone could tell me some things about it. Like what it's like, what the people are like, typical things to do there, what it'd be like growing up there.. oh & if you could tell me about the soccer team too that'd be great! Really, any information would be great!

Is he from the city of Veracruz, or the state of Veracruz? I live in the state of Veracruz, about 75 miles from the port city of Veracruz. The city of Veracruz is over one million people. It is a port city right on the Gulf of Mexico with a large shipping business. It is a beautiful city and has a fairly large number of tourists.. It is extremely hot and humid in the city , and all along the coastal areas, all year except Nov. through March. During that time the weather is much more pleansant. the state of Veracruz is long and narrow along the Gulf coast. Just a little ways inland from the beach, you enter the mountainous region. It is very green, beautiful, and cooler than along the coast. The people of Veracruz are very proud of their state, their distinctive music and food and their history. There are many great historical sites in Veracruz, including Mayan Pyramids, and the place where Cortez first landed in Mexico and began his conquest of Mexico. There is a lot of info on the internet that you can research and study.Each part of Mexico has its own distinctive culture and history . I hope you enjoy learning more about Veracruz.

Veracruz is a beautiful state! A lot of rain forest, camping sites, calm and dark sea.. the capital's name is also Veracruz and a typical thing to do is drink coffee in La Parroquia, and eat coconut ice cream in g眉ero g眉era's, and also de nite life is awsom! its tropical and ancient place, i just love it! And the people is kind and funny!

The soccer team is called Tiburones Rojos which means the red sharks. They have been pretty good the last few years.There are some amazing mayan ruins, especially the one called "El Tajin". They eat a ton of seafood, especially red snapper, it is usually called huachinango veracruzana. Its was the first place that the conquistadores (Hernan cortes, mexicos columbus) and they put up a cross on the coast, so the name Vera Cruz literally means 'see the cross'.
