Why should I visit Veracruz, Mexico?

I have a friend who says all these things about Veracruz...I want to see it personally...why should I go?

When it comes to monuments and notable architecture, Veracruz is not high on the list. But it is known as perhaps the most festive city in Mexico.

Don't expect the nearby beaches to be nearly as good as those on the Pacific or Caribbean coasts.

Take a look at the website linked below. It's run by an American ex-pat who knows the area very well.

dude, it sounds like you already know why you want to go--all the stuff your friend has been saying, right? otherwise, if you don't know, don't go.

hell yes, drink beer, tequila , dope and get laid day and night

Heres a little article about Veracruz .. hope you like it!

Veracruz has Lot's to offer good weather food is good Lot's good soups fish of all kinds nice zocalo open air restaurants really good coffee and a big fat cigar in the afternoon tall chicks in the zocalo looking for a roster yes ah yes the good times in Veracruz get on the bus ride to boca Del Rio have a fish dinner then back to Veracruz walk along the wall by the water then on to zocolo for rum and coke or a coffee

The ruins of El Tajin. While they may be not on the same level as Teotihuacan, Palenque, or Chichen Itza, they are still quite impressive and worth a gander.

They also do a demonstration where 5 fellows climb to the top of pole, tie their ankles in rope and descend downward headfirst in enlargening spirals.

Here's some notes from my experience there
