Does mexico have railroad service for travlers?

would like to travel in mexico by railroad

The answer is absolutely NO ... only a few tourist trains here and there for short trips. They still do use trains for freight

Everyone uses the buses which are much better than the US

yes they have them but i havent visited mexico in about 5 years so i dont know what hey have now. they might be something fancy

yes you can ride the train i have used it Lot's over the years

Yes they have railroad services packed like most cities there about 21/2 years ago.

NO
With a few exceptions.

Regular passenger was discountinued by the government in January of 2006. The main exception is the popular is the Chihuahua - El Pacifico which connects the Chihuahua (east of the Sierra Madre Occidental) to Los Mochis (near the west coast). It was kept because it is the only practical way to travel between those locations and because it travels through Copper Canyon, making it one of the most spectacular train rides in the world, attracting tourist.

Outside of that the only train service are a few short runs, like the Tequila Expess, mainly run on weekends as tourist excursions.

When it was functioning, the Mexican passenger train system is not well run. Along most routes, when on schedule, which wasn't often, trains took twice as long as buses.

Mexico does have one of the world's best bus systems. For more information, use the link below.
