Train ride or plane ride from Venice to Rome?

Hello all
Me and my girlfreind will be going to venice and then of to Rome and I was wondering if anybody might know about the train routes in italy.

Is there scenery on the way from venice to rome?
how long is it by train?
is it comfortable and how much would it be for reserved seat or first class?
what is better to do fly there or a train ride?
If I was to go by train where do I go to book our tickets?
i checked with air italia its about $110 per person we are leaving in mid july

Minimum time is 4 h 11 min (no need to change, just one train).
Click on "Buy" in order to see fares and further options: standard 1st class on Eurostar is 80,80 per person, 2nd class 56,10. A Eurostar 2nd class is yet comfortable.

You can book on Trenitalia site, there's also a ticketless option: you just need the number they'll send you by e-mail.
Or you can buy on the railway station. With a Eurostar, it's possible you'll find all booked yet, if you do just before departure.

Moving inside Italy, check first for a train; flying would be a choice (especially about time) only if you need to go through at least half of the Country: remember moving to an airport to downtown can take up to one hour and then you still have to move from the airport of destination to the town, so you may spent at least one hour and a half just for this (not to mention check-in procedures) while 4 to 5 hours is the time it'll taje to downtown to downtown.

I took the ride a while back. It is pretty if during Spring. You may want to check out the actual train information from the below website. The flight is short the ride is nice and if you ride what they may call off season very comfortable.

The train ride from Venice to Rome is about 4 hours long. There is some nice scenery and it is a very relaxing trip. I would take the train instead of flying. The time is about the same when you consider getting to the airport at least an hour early, the flight and then landing outside of Rome which is at least a half hour outside the city. The train costs less with a 1rst class ticket costing about 75 euros for a one way seat and 2nd class costing about 50 euros. The seats in 1rst class are very comfortable and have electrical connections for your laptop if you need it. You can book your train tickets online at trenitalia.com or you can wait until you are in Venice and just go to the S. Lucia station and buy them there. You can get them a day or two ahead of time without a problem.

Train.....you can enjoy the beautiful scenery from the comfort of your train. It will take about 3.5 hrs and you can buy the tickets in the train station, no need for reservations.

you should def take a train! the scenery is gorgeous! but be sure to take the euro star train!! (its air conditioned, has snacks, pretty fast & has comfy seats!)me & my friend accidentally took the inter-regionale train and it was the worst!! plus its not too $$$ and no reservations needed! have funn!!!

I've just cheked your stuff:
Venice to Rome takes, by train, 4h30m and the price is about 55鈧瑄ros (one way in the second class). The official website is: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/ (but it's only italian).
Fly there it takes 1h and you can find the cheapest price booking on http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/?culture=... (about 50鈧瑄ros per person return)

GO WITH RYANAIR.COM OR EASYJET.COM!!!! You will find plane tickets that are much cheaper than airitalia or some other airline. The train ride will be long and since I am guessing that you and your girlfriend want to enjoy every waking moment outside in the Italian breeze, I suggest doing the plane ride! SERIOUSLY! I lived there for a half year and I went through Milano to Rome and it was much cheaper than the train and it took like a fraction of the time.

You can get plane tickets sometimes for like 30 euro (45-50 US $) roundtrip! Look it up, man!
