Any extra congestion at the airport or train station on the last day of Carnevale in Venice?

In New Orleans, there is a lot of congestion at the airport the day Mardi Gras ends. What about in Venice? I'll be leaving Venice the final day of Carnevale (Feb. 5th). Should I expect crowds trying to flock out of the city?

I have no question about Carnevale being splendid. I'm assuming it is. I'm especially concerned about the crowds on the last day of carnevale trying to flock out the city or is it more gradual with people maybe leaving the day after carnevale.

The railway station and the bus station will be mobbed.

Allow extra time to get there if using the vaporetta. And extra fares if you have a lot of baggage. The transport police will be very hot on instant fines.

Also be aware that when Carnivale finishes this year there will be vaporetti running that are for locals only. That tourist passes will be invalid on.
