What is the best way to get from the Venice, Italy airport to the Westin in Venice, Italy?

What is the best way to get from the Venice, Italy airport to the Westin in Venice, Italy?

It depends on which Venice airport you're arriving at and which Westin Hotel you're in. The main airport is Marco Polo which is just across the lagoon from the city. You can arrange a shuttle from the airport to the hotel by contacting the hotel.

If you're staying at the Westin Europa & Regina in San Marco. You can also take a bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma in Venezia. From there take vaparetto 1 or 2 to the San Marco Vallaresso stop. Or, a third option is to take the Alilaguna Blu line boat from the airport to San Marco. Note that the hotel sites refer to vaparetto route #82 - this is now route 2.

If you're staying at the Westin Excelsior in Venezia Lido (at the beach), you can arrange the shuttle with the hotel or take a vaparetto that goes to the Lido (#1, 51, or 52 from Piazzale Roma get there without a change).

To arrange for the shuttle, you need to contact the hotel concierge or reservations department and let them know your flight # and arrival time. Then go to the Starwood Hospitality Desk in the airport arrivals area.

If you're arriving at the Treviso airport (budget flights), there's a shuttle bus to Piazzale Roma. take the vaparetto from there as above.

The Alilaguna site is: http://www.alilaguna.com/

The vaparetto site is: http://www.actv.it/english/home.php

Personally, I'd take the bus to Piazzale Roma and take the vaparetto as the best trade off between cost and ease. The private shuttle would probably be the easiest, but also the most expensive. If you're staying at the Westin at the Lido, take the private shuttle.

Take the vaporetto from the train station to the San Marco stop. "Water taxis" are very expensive. The advantage of the Vaporetto is that you will be traveling as the Venetians do!
