Cheap Hotel in the center of Venice?

I am looking for a cheap hotel or hostel with private room close to mail rail station of Venice. If you know a good hotel please tell me.

I use the venere.com site for booking hotels here in Italy. There are over 280 hotels for Venice in their database. You can use a map to sort for a particular district in the city you're interested in and then sort by price, guest rating,... http://en.venere.com/hotels_venice/ The site has a lot of reviews by previous guests to get an idea of what to expect from the area, the hotel, and the staff.

If you want something close to the train station, go to the "Find hotels on map" link and select the Cannereggio Ovest district. The prices vary quite a bit depending on exactly when you're planning to go, but a good choice in that area is the Ca' Dogaressa Hotel. There are some that would be a little cheaper ( sort by price), but this one has a much higher guest rating.

Hotel Bernardi!
We just stayed there, and were referred there by friends who had been the year before. It is an easy 15 minute walk from Piazza San Marco, less than 5 minutes from Ponte Rialto, and you can take the vaporetto from right in front of the train station to the Ca d'Oro stop, and walk five minutes from there to get to the hotel.
When we were there this summer, this hotel was over 120 EURO cheaper than any place we found on the major websites for a single room. It had incredible air conditioning and a free continental breakfast included.
