Is living together unmarried with a partner in Dubai allowed?

I am currently working in Dubai and my partner will come over and join and live/work with me here, however we are not yet married. Is it allowed in Dubai for an unmarried couple to stay in one roof? If not, how should we best proceed? Thanks!

Theoretically it is illegal for a couple to live together if they are not married. But no one will do door o door searches demanding your marriage certificate. But it could lead to potential trouble if something goes wrong through some stupid coincidence or if someone stupid reports you.
Are you planning to get married sometime soon?
If yes, you could as well get married in Dubai - great place to do this. My husband and I got married on the beach here, very nice.
Anyway, I suppose you would do just fine living with your partner if you keep it low, quite a few couples do so here. But I would get married eventually. Should you get pregnant unmarried you would really be up **** creek here, because that is illegal and you could go to jail for that.

Depends. Generally White people can get away with pretty much anything in Dubai. The locals love White people and give them a "Get out of jail free" pass when it comes to such matters.

Dubai has a thriving, officially-sanctioned, prostitution scene, so it seems hypocritical for Dubai to say that co-habiting is wrong when the streets and clubs are clogged with hookers.

yes

u dont have to declare i to the world that u r not married .
just carry on wth ur life as usual and i am sure no one is going to enter ur house to enquire about it . just be carefull in public places and be discrete in ur affair

Err, there's a law against premarital sex, and couples living together if they aren't married, BUT no one's going to be going around knocking on your door, so it's okay.

If it is found out, you can say you are engaged and planning to get married, as a quick side step to any troubles, but I doubt there will be!

:)

she can come live with you .. but you dont need to speak about it ..
