International City in Dubai?

How far is International city from the central Dubai? Is it a residntial area. how is the place to live in?

it is not to far it is considered as the suburban, and it is good place to live in because:

1) location is excellent " airport is 15km, union co-op is 1km, vegetable and fruit market is 1km, uptown midriff is 3 - 5 km, 4 major bus lines passes through international city, metro purple line will have a station in the city, Dragon mart is in the city itself, and a nice lake that u can walk around and have pleasant time.

2) price: it is the cheapest properties in Dubai rent or buy.

3) new services to be lunched soon like: within 5 - 6 months landscaping would finish and will make the place more beautiful, also new mall will be constructed soon at the center of the city as well as big supermarket and sports club.

Im w/ International City too & unlike the other guy - I'm disturbed by the smell. He admitted there's smell- though he is not disturbed!

Location is excellent? Baloney! Whe're the tenants except the Chinese?

Price: Cheapest? Crap! - Why no tenants up to now? It's been there finished for a year ! Report It

I think you have asked something related to this on your previous question about your husband getting a job at Al Aweer Power Plant ?

Interantional City is really FAR from the city. The bad thing about this place is that it is just a few kilometers away from the Water Treatment Plant and believe me - you wouldnt want the smell of the atmosphere in that area.

Our warerhouse is in al Aweer and they are almost 7 kilometers away from the treatment plant (international city is just under 2 kilometers away) - and believe me, our workers sometimes cant stand the smell from the waste treatment plant.

One of the hazard in living in the international city is really the almost 200 waste trucks and tanker travelling everyday to the treatment plant. One inciddent whe there was a collision - the truck carrying those waste overturned and dumped all the waste in the street !!! The area was sealed - cordoned and cleaned. It was closed for almost 12 hrs but the smell lasted for almost 72 hrs !!!
