IS DUBAI CHEAPEr THAN THE USA?


I AM GOING TO DUBAI IN MARCH AND WANT TO KNOW IF I SHOULD SAVE ALL MY MONEY

If you want to compare rents in Manhattan and Dubai, Yes, Dubai is a little cheaper. If you compare rents in the country somewhere in the US, No Dubai is not cheaper, it's much more expensive.
Gas is MUCH cheaper,
cabs are MUCH cheaper,
water and electricity are MUCH cheaper,
local food or food imoprted from the GCC States are cheaper
cigarettes are much cheaper
phone and internet are cheaper
phone calls in within the city from landline to landline are free

Your living expenses depend mostly on your lifestyle, where you go shopping and what you buy.

Last not least: your salary is taxfree and most VAT is only added on certain items, but you can beat that by getting these item in another Emirate.
You have to negoiate a salary package incl. housing and transportation.

Medical care in case of an emerency is free and soon there it also will take place that it will be mandatory that the sponsor pays for the healthcare of the employee. Most companies do this already.

Where in the US, you should be more specific... generally costs of living in Dubai is expensive, as H said, maybe a little cheaper than in the big cities like Manhattan & New York.

You'll find things cheaper here, as there is no goods and services tax... oil/gas is definitely cheaper, cars are cheaper, cigarettes are dirt cheap here,... some of the imported things from around the world tend to be more expensive then what you will find in your home country (if that is America)

better save some money to spend in dubai

It is cheaper in many regards:
* food
* transportation
* no sales taxes
* no income taxes
* warm weather so less heating bills
* plenty of ethnic cheap eating joints
