Travelling to dubai from uk, what plug fitting is reqired to use my electrical items there? UAE including all the otehr GCCs like Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi and Kuwait uses the Brithish Standard BS 1363 TYPE G which looks like this: You should find mostly UK plugs, with SOME two-prong European types. uae has uk system everywhere three pin plug same as UK...3 pin. Weird thing here, almost everything is sold with 2 pin! 3 pin plug? its rather strange but they have 3 pin sockets on the walls but most of the plugs are two pin which causes some problems i have seen some very strange (and sometimes dangerous) arrangements for plugging things in. most of yr uk plugs should be ok there but just check the voltage as im not sure if its different, for two pin plugs then an adaptor is the safest option. |
