Port el kantaoui is okay if you like resorts - get to the Kasbah in Sousse where they filmed Monty Python's Life Of Brian - its beautiful but not one for small children, the rough ground and lack of safety rails is a little daunting. Carthage is great but seeing the Sahara is better! The Roman Colloseum in El Jem is awe inspiring (The Gladiator was filmed there) Happy holiday...

Couple of hours away - Port el Kantoui is fantatsic, I've spent many a happy hol there.

It depends on which road you take. If you take the A1(the highway) and exit off at Yassimine Hammamet, you could be there in about 45 minutes.

If you take the back roads (the original roads) it'll take you about an hour and a half.

**Just a note: Monty Python 's Life of Brian was filmed in the Ribat where I live (Monastir), not Sousse**
