Mozzies in tunisia (monastir)?

Hi, my family and friends are off to Monastir on Sunday. Is there a big mozzie problem in tunisia at the start of April??

MOSQUITOS not MUSLIMS

I live in Monastir and there is no problems with any of the mosquitoes here yet. They don't come out until about mid April.

Oh, there are a few here and there, but not enough to worry about. It's when you come in summer that they become a problem.

If I can be of more assistance or more help, please feel free to contact me.

What Muslims or Mosquitos?

Which do you mean?

Had many a holiday in Tunisia and hardly ever see any mozzies about, the weather isnt warm enough yet but take some insect repellent just in case. Hope they have a good time

Been a while since i was in Monastir - but from what i can recollect ... no I don't remember a big Mozzie attack.... and i get bitten alot. Thailand was bad. Big trick is just not to itch it as this activates the venom! Take some vit B12 as this puts a chemical in your body that they dont like. Have a lovely trip - the people are very friendly and i recommend riding a horse along the beach!

Ugh there are a few mozzies (wachwecha) here most of the year but April isn't so bad at all, and anyway you can close your windows seeing as it's not very hot yet.

Usually when you sleep they go for your face so close your windows at night and spray the room with Phletox (bonus: it smells real good) and if you're still insecure put a little sheet over your face.

The bites from wachwecha in Tunisia seem to be bigger & uglier than the ones i got back home so it's worth wearing insect repellant during the day too if you're out on the beach.

HI MY FAMILY AND I HAVE BEEN TO TUNISIA 4 TIMES AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR AND TO DIFFERENT AREAS STAYING IN BOTH THE NORTH THE SOUTH OF THE COUNTRY AND I CAN SAY WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MOZZIES.HAVE A GREAT TIME

I have just got back from Tunisia and didn't get bitten once. Where ever i go to the mozzies normally find me as soon as the plane door opens.

Hi dear friend, Hi every body ..!
I didn't like to write your pseudo, because your question about mosquitoes is quite normal,if you don't have an idea about the destination chosen by your parent's and friends for their holidays.
First off, welcome to your family & friends in Tunisia((Monastir).
Don't have to warry about mosquitoes, even if they exsit they are not harmefull or dangerous, they normally appear in the humid (lakes, lagoons, etc..) regions, but the Ministry of Environnement, the Ministery of Health, the Ministery of Tourism, and the local authorities (Municipalities) Launch every year a campaign to erradicate them with the insecticides.Hopefuly they are in general successfull, that's why there's no mean to warry. The country is safe and clean compared to many other tourism destinations.
I hope they will have a great time, without mosquitoes, and enjoy their holidays.
I'm curious to have their feed back, don't hesitate to let me know if possible. Many thanks.
