Social/ Dating scene in Tunisia among 18-26 yr olds?

I'm not familiar with the culture and I was just curious what it's like for tunisians in their 20's. More specifically on the dating scene-what are tunisian men generally like in relationships? Is pre-marital sex a taboo b/c it's an arabic culture or?
Also, I heard tunisian women are very beautiful and so men aren't keen on exclusive relationships but want OPEN relationships, is there any truth to that?

It depends on what part of the country you go to. Tunis for example is a very open society with dating being a normal way of life, and some couples decide that monogamy isn't for them, and they both date around.

For most of the touristic cities, they date, but it is monogamous, and they stay with only one person.

In the south, the midland, and the wester part of the country dating is done on the sly. It's not exactly arranged marriages, but the couple don't start dating until they are engaged.

As for sex, there are an equal number that wait until marriage as there are that don't. But women who have sex outside of marriage are looked down upon and thought of as easy. It is half because of the teachings of Islam, and half the society and culture of Tunisia.

In relationships Tunisian men want a women who would make a good companion to them. They want someone who understands them, can deal with their imperfections, and who treats them well.

Tunisian women are like any women in he world: you have your drop dead gorgeous ones, you have your beautiful ones, your pretty ones, your not so pretty ones, and your ugly ones. This has no bearing on men wanting open relationships, because who's to say that a certain man is cute enough to get another girl?

yes and no. first dating outside of marriage goes beyond an Arab taboo, it is an Islamic one. It is forbidden to date outside of marriage. in the big city's you will find dating, however the persons involved are NOT respected! keep this in mind. in the smaller towns outside the big city's, forget it! no dating outside marriage. i have found that these are more traditional, and you must be engaged to see a man in public. even than most have a chaperon. it is just how it is done. so if your looking for something long lasting, do not leave yourself open to gossip of any kind. act respectful.
as to the men, men are the same the world over. but most are kind, and very generous.
