Im going in holiday to monastir tunisia , iwant to know what are the pricesfor beer, min.water, taxi ,a good mea

im from romania and i want to be sure that i have money to have a nice holliday in monastir tunisia.are the people nice ,friendly, can go in a restaurant and dont spend all my money for one meal.in the shops are the prices fix or can i barging.i must give tipps evrywere.what kind of taxi is cheaper and thrust .what clothes i need in december 31.2006.how is the wether in this time.

I live in Monastir and things are pretty reasonably priced.

1 Romanian New Leu is equal to 0.511 Tunisian Dinar, so you are at a little bit of a disadvantage there. But don't let it discourage you because like I said, things are relatively cheap.

A 1.5L bottle of mineral water costs .400TDN, but most people buy them is cartons of 6. Just a way to not have to go to the store all the time to buy water.

A taxi from one end of Monastir to the other should not cost you more than 5TDN. Taxi rides are pretty cheap, but if you want to save on that you can always walk - Monastir is not that big of a town and most people here walk if they don't have access to a car.

Beer prices will probably cost you about 5TDN for one bottle in a hotel, and around 3TDN in a resteraunt.

Food prices will depend on what type of resteraunt you want to go to. A fast food place will cost you about 3TDN per person if you buy a coke along with your sandwich. And actual resteraunt will run you anywhere between 20-30TDN for 4 people, including drinks.

December is winter here in Tunisia and there is lots of rain. The temperature itself is not that cold, but the humidity goes straight to your bones and makes it feel a lot colder than it actually is. I suggest bringing pants, sweaters, long sleeved shirts, a light-medium weight jacket, and an umbrella. Also be sure to bring something warm to sleep in at nights because it gets really cold at nights.

If I can be of any more assistance, feel free to contact me.
