Is there a limit to how much english cash can you take into tunisia when going on holiday?

been advised not to take travellers cheques and told you cant take any more than 拢600 per person

There is no limit to what you bring into the country as long as you declare it.

The Tunisian dinar is not a fully convertible currency. While the export or import of Tunisian banknotes and coins is prohibited, the export of foreign currency declared when entering Tunisia is allowed. Tourists are expected to make foreign exchange transactions at authorized banks and to retain receipts. A tourist may reconvert to foreign currency 30 percent of the amount previously exchanged into dinars, up to a maximum of 53.6 GBP. Declaring foreign currency when entering Tunisia and obtaining receipts for dinars purchased thereafter will facilitate the conversion of dinars to GBP when leaving the country. You should keep all receipts of monetary transactions for presentation when departing.

Don't know...I took travellers cheques...but remember..you can't take Tunisia's currency with you when you leave the country!

MAYBE

There's no cash limit when you get in the country. Travelor's checks or plain cash. But it is prohibited to export local currency in significant ammounts. You can have few coins if you're a collector or as a souvenir, of course. They'd understand.

no limit to what you can take in, but exchange of money can only be done in tunisia as it ir a restricted country, and you must not try to bring their money out

JUST CAME BACK FROM THERE NO LIMIT IN WHAT YOU CAN TAKE IN .TAKE TRAVELLERS GHEQES TO CHANGE MAKE SURE YOU KEEP RECIEPT TO CHANGE YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOU HAVE ANY LEFT.
