Nice place close to tijuana?

Hello everyone, can someone recommend a nice place to spend a weekend that's not more than a few hours from tijuana by bus / train? Ensenada maybe?

San Digo CA is nice and only about 45 min from Tijuana. Rosarito, Mexcio is OK but its a party town for young people. Mexicali is kind of far but has a lot of cool "anrtos" or night clubs that are very different from the ones in Tijuana or the US.
Ensenada is about an hour away and has wine tasting, historic buildings, an ok main strip and some cool coffee shops and night clubs.

like any place you go to...stay close to were there are a lot of people and be safe.

Rosarito Beach Hotel. Historic site, on the beach, nice bar. Close to restaurants and shops. Ensenada is about an hour away south. Halfway, there is a small community called La Mision...great old restaurant La Fonda and hotel is worth a stop. Right on the beach, romantic atmosphere.
