Can someone tell me...If I wanted to go to Kerala, do i fly into trivandrum and then go from there?

What are some nice places to visit in Kerala..my husband and I want to go to the back waters of Kerala and maybe Kovalum beach..now we have 2 kids with us...Please help. How do we get around? I don't want my hubby to drive.

hi. i went there 4 years ago. you fly to trivendrum, and then take a taxi from their or you can arrange it with the hotel from wherever you are staying.if i remember correclty, the taxi ride will take bout half an hour, but you're going to have to find out about that to make sure.

p.s, the beaches are kinda rough around this time of year,but still very enjoyable. the scenery is great.(not too sure about any other places to visit there.)

Hey there are lots of places to visit in kerala. If u precisely want to spend time in the backwaters i think thats a great choice. You could probably fly to cochin and then drive to cochin city which is an hours drive. The best places to find boat houses are Kumarakom with good luxury and comforts and a bill to add to it is also pretty awesome!! ..... To go to Kovalam you need to fly to Trivandrum. From their you would require to take cab for Kovalam. Also you can go around in hired cab. And here in India all the cabs come with the driver so you would not require to drive.

too many nice places in Kerala to list here..to go to Kerala you can fly to Cochin or Trivandrum but if you are not a native i.e a malayali or have no friends in kerala you will have a very hard time.

Trivandrum also known as Thiruvanandapuram is the capital city of Kerala. There are two more international airports located in Kerala, Cochin and Calicut Airports. If you are targeted only Kovalam beach and backwater tours then Trivandrum airport is better option. Kovalam is located hardly 16 kms from Trivandrum city.

There are many more tourist attractions in Kerala. Visit the following links for more details. Cochin is located middle of Kerala, so if you like to visit the other places I would suggest you to select Cochin airport. Major international airlines are operating to this sector.
