Should i go to brazil or thailand for a month?

Please give positives and negatives for either one. Food, nightlife, language, etc. I just want to fly over and bum around. I was wondering what prices were like and if it was possible to just go around with no real plan and be able to find a place to stay

Thanks alot

Anyone with personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that you go to Thailand because it has such a wonderful easy way of life and very inexpensive.Food,accommondation,nightlif... and language etc, is everything good about the place.Nearly everyone speaks English and everyone is very helpful. You can be as active or laid back as you like. You will not need too much to live on out there because everything is so cheap. You will get about 60-65Bahts to the British pound.Good accommondation is cheap and clean and the staff are very helpful.I have spent three months out there and had an amazing time.I am going back for five months in November. One other thing is you will have to apply for a visa from the Thai Embassy and that isn't a problem as long as you give yourself enough time. You can apply on line it is quick and easy.Good luck with whatever you decide to do and remember that Thailand is "The Land Of Smiles".

I think they are having trouble in Brazil

If you go to Thailand I think they have strict laws on drugs

It is still going to be your decision

Might depend on where you are flying from and how much money you have to spend! The country you have your passport with will determine if you get a free 30 day entry permit or have to pay for a visa in Thailand.

Thailand has an exciting nightlife, something for everyone! Cheap transportation, cheap hotels, lots of tours or you can go places on your own.

How much do you want to spend per night for a hotel room? In Thailand you can get a basic cheap A/C room with hot water, private toilet/shower starting around 600 baht per night for Bangkok, even cheaper in some other cities. These are basic rooms, fan only rooms and cold water shared dorms even cheaper.

Yes, you can go around without any special plan in mind if you want to. You should sort of keep the north things on one trip together and the south things on another trip and not jump between locations to save on transportations costs.

Lots of tourists just wing it! First most flights go to Bangkok, travelers see that city for a few days and head out, smart travelers also end up there for the last night to avoid missing the ride home. In between arriving and departing the choice is yours! Beaches, bar hopping, culture, geography - up to you!

Your budget will determine how you travel - bus - train - or fly quickly! Read up on Thailand and Brazil and see what interests you most! Check the round trip flights to both capital cities and see which is cheaper. Keep in mind if you save 300 dollars on a plane ride and have to pay $80 per night for a hotel that difference is soon used up!

Most often you can find a hotel anytime, exceptions are Christmas through the New Years holidays to about the middle of January. Even during these holiday periods you can find hotels with a walk-in but you may have to try a little harder.

You have to figure out how much you can afford per night for lodging, how much per day for food, transportation and entertainment. With this info then it is easier to see if you can handle the trip.

Thailand. - My Favorite is Pattaya. You can go cheap and have a great time or Spend Big and have an even better time.

Seems pretty safe also. Its a Kick.

I have been several times to both countries, love both, though they are so different. This (superficial) comparison list might help you.

Prices:
+ Thailand
- Brazil (still cheaper than Europe, but more expensive than Thailand)

Beaches:
+ Brazil (esp in the north beaches are brillant!)
+ Thailand (beautifull but often crowded)

Security:
+ Thailand
- Brazil (esp. Rio and Salvador are very unsecure)

Travelling around
+ Thailand (very easy, cheap + fast transport, easy to get around)
- Brazil (harder, long distances, its a HUGE COUNTRY!)

Language:
+ Thailand (many speak English)
- Brazil (better learn some Portuguese or at least Spanish)

Adventure Level:
+ Brazil (Samba, Bossa, Drums - Brazil is so thrilling!)
- Thailand

Relax Factor:
+ Thailand (chill and relax on the islands, people are warm, friendly and quiet)
- Brazil (is hectic, loud and thrilling ... if you dont find a lonely beach)

All subjective and very superficial - but i hope it helps you a bit anyway!

I used to think Brazil was the spot to go. No more. My experience in Brazil is limited to Rio while my experience in Thailand is Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya.
Food: Thailand--cheap shops for local cuisine. Brazil--sidewalk cafes but more expensive.
Nightlife: Thailand--beer bars and discos. Brazil--looking at the sites stroll by.
Language: Thailand--most places you wind up they speak English. Brazil--They speak English at the major tourist areas.
The thing that tips the countries in favor of Thailand is security. You can relax any place in Thailand and not worry about safety. You could leave you items at your chair at some beach and come back hours later and it would still be there. They won't pad your bill. In Rio you have to be on constant guard. I think the women in Rio are better looking but the women in Thailand are friendlier, if that's what you are going for.
