Which bus can I take from the airport if I need to be near the Pratunam area?

Is the bus safe at 1am? Or which bus will come closest to that area? Thanks.

From Suvarnabhumi Airport take the free shuttle to the Airport Bus Station.

Take Number 552 SA to On Nut BTS station (35 baht $1) (Sky Train) take the Skytrain to Chitlom (35 Baht $1) exit at BTS Chidlom (Chitlom) station, turn north (right) at the Gaysorn Plaza corner and walk past Big C and Central World to next intersection. That will be Pratunam Mall.

You should not have any problems.

I'm sorry I forgot the BTS stops at midnight. Instead you can take
Bus no. 551 Victory Monument - Suvarnabhumi (via Pratunam). The price think is still 35 baht. If lost get a tuk tuk 50b Report It

I arrive around this time all the time on NWA. I always take the the meter taxi.

Change some money over to Thai baht. Get some small bills for paying either the bus or taxi ride. A 500 baht note may be too big for a taxi driver to cash! (Or he will claim he has no change hoping you will be stupid enough to say "keep the change!")

First there is no Airport Express bus at that time. You would have to take the free shuttle to the Airport Bus Station. At the airport bus station you may or may not leave immediately - another delay! It is a long ride into the city, it is faster at night but still a lot of stop and go! Old link that I saved: http://www.boxertravels.net/airport/tran...

My advice is to take the meter taxi or have your hotel send a ride for you at that time. A bus does not do "door to door" it drops you off somewhere near your hotel - then you have to find the hotel! A taxi will take you directly to the hotel! Have a good address available not just the hotel name. Lots of hotels have similar sounding names! Lots and lots of hotels in Bangkok!

The fare you pay covers every one that can fit in the taxi, not per passenger! Avoid the touts in the arrivals hall - go through the door to the street. At the curb area there will a taxi sign up desk. The person at the desk will write the hotel name and address down, tell the driver where to go, help you with your bags and give you a slip with the taxi number on it and a number to call if there is a complaint. Your pay everything except the toll at the hotel when you arrive. You must pay the meter fare, a 50 baht surcharge and possibly 2 tolls amounting to around 65 baht. The driver may ask for the toll money during the ride - this is normal - you won't have to pay him a second time. You do get receipts for the tolls too if you want. Price is on a sign next to the toll booth.

At the hotel you pay everything. Pretty simple.

Is a taxi safe? Probably safer than walking down a street late at night carrying a suitcase and a full purse after a bus lets you off! Sukhumvit Road is more lively even at 1 or 2 a.m. in the morning. Most of the Pratunam area (First Hotel, Asia Hotel, Amari Hotel, etc.) has fewer tourists wandering around at that time.

I really don't know if the buses run that late. Maybe they do or not, but I recommend taken a meter Taxi from the airport, it is safe. Many people inside the airport will ask you if you need a taxi these are unauthorized and will charge you twice the price. Go out door 7 on the second floor of the airport and you will see people lined up for a taxi, the line moves fast so don't worry. Your have to pay the driver a 50 baht airport fee and about 65 baht express way tolls plus the meter. The total cost should be no move the 300 to 350 baht, which is a little over $10.

By taxi it will cost around 400 bahts. Travelling by bus and train may be a bit cheaper. But it will take hours to arrive in Pratunam. It takes only around 30 minutes by taxi
