Package trip in Thailand .?

Any ideas where to go in Thailand from BKK or from Khon Kaen area about 7000 baht per person a few days inc room
Or has anybody been to Phuket on a trip package that they can recommend or Samui
Just for myself and GF
Been to Thailand but always done the same things my own way never organised as such
cheers

On that budget and with you sounding like you want to go to the beach, I would shoot for Koh Chang. You can get an air-conditioned government bus from Bangkok for about 300 baht per person and you can find relatively cheap rooms almost anywhere.

Koh Chang not only has the beach, but some nice fresh water waterfalls where you can swim and picnic.

You can also rent a Honda Wave and drive around and explore the whole island.

I think you would see your budget afford you a much happier time than if you tried Phuket or Samui which is way over priced and too touristy.

try http://www.visualthailand.com for 1000's of current photos of things to see and do in Thailand.

I would suggest doing a little research on the internet and book your own trip to Koh Chang. Once you do this, you realize you can get so much more for your money than in you try a package deal with a tour company.

If you are in Khon Kaen, you can rent a truck for as little as 900 to 1000 baht per day for a few days and drive to some good places to see. Head over to the bookstore in the Mall across from the Kosa Hotel and pick up a Globetrotter Thailand Travel Atlas.

There are lots of very interesting places to see around Khon Kaen if you can drive. A drive through Namhao National Park on the way to Phetchabun, Kalasin, Roi Et, Udon Thani, and other surrounding sites offer interesting and cheap things to see and do.

Good luck and with a little planning effort you can have a good time anywhere.

I guess you are familiar with Khon Kaen and its attractions around the lake area.

I may suggest that you use the travel companies in Khon Kaen to do a Khao Yai National Park tour and stay. This will cover a few days including a stay at the park, even in the forest and doing an animal watch tour. This tour can swing you through to Phimai, nearby, for a tour of the ancient city of Pimai and also the largest banyan tree in Thailand.

If you still have time and money, look for a winery stay at Village Farm Winery in Wang Nam Khieo. A pleasant stay with wine on hand, even in your room. This place makes the local Chateau des Brumes and The Village Cellar brands of wine.
