Is eight days long enough to get a thai visa?

i am travelling to thai land on the 29th on a one way ticket i need to get a tourist visa. The problem i have is the vietnamese embassy have my passport as they are processing a tourist visa for me i will not be getting my passportack untill the 20th which leaves me eight days untill i leave will i be able to get a thai visa in this time if i apply in person at the embassy in london. how long does it take for them to process it?? am i ******???

couple of things. If you fly to thailand with no visa, then you are automatically granted a 30 days tourist visa (if you a re a UK citizen). You don't need to get this in advance or anything like that, you will get a stamp in your passport on arrival in Bkk. If you want to stay for more than 30 days, then you have 2 choices. Either leave the country after 30 days (i.e. go to a neighbouring country) cross the border and then cross back in again and you will get another 30 days visa. you can do this 3 times max.

I am currently here on a 60 day visa (granted when i was on holiday in Oz). and in the Thai embassy in sydney it took 3 days to get my passport back. Also, for your refrence, i arrived here on a one way ticket from Oz. There was no questions asked.

to sum up, if you are staying in thailand for less than 30 days then there is absolutely no need for you to get a visa before you leave (more than anything else, it's actually more expensive to do that)

I have my doubts that u will get a tourist visa on a one way ticket

Stuart you kept on asking this question here. The best advice is to contact the Thai Embassy your going to get your visa from. As others have told you in there answers to you. If your a UK citizen you can come to Thailand for 30 days cost free without a visa.

Stuart I have three questions if you can answer them I can give you a better answer>

1. What country do you hold a passport with.

2. How long do you plan to stay in Thailand

3. What is your itinerary after Thailand.
