Does anyone know how I would get from Bangkok airport to Bangkok city? |
I am going there for the 1st time and have no idea how to get around! thanks The best way is a metered taxi, to most locations in Bangkok the fare should be around 200-300 baht. You can take a bus from the airport but that can take a long time and only get you to bus stops and bus stations. Taxis are relatively inexpensive and can take right to your destination. Once you're in the city, the Skytrain, subway and water taxis on the river and canals are the best way to beat the traffic, but to some locations you will have to take buses, tuk-tuks or taxis. Have fun. Bus or taxi, easy. I'm off to Bangkok in a day (my 2nd time in years) and I say that taxi is the best option to go to your hotel/hostel. There're buses provided there but my friend told me that it might take about half an hour waiting. To venture around, try taking their buses and sky train. I enjoyed the Tuk-Tuk too though it can be a tad too hot and sticky for me. Cab can be expensive especially if you're stuck in traffic during peak hours. Hope this helps! Plenty of taxis waiting outside arrivals, should cost less than 500 THB. 15 US . Get a metered taxi at the arrival area. Don't worry Thais are nice and friendly if you are friendly too. It is less than 200 baht to Bankok metropolis. We just got in the taxi queue outside the airport and told him where we wanted to go (booked a hotel in the airport). Best bet is the taxi. but make sure you go to the official rank on (if i remember rightly) the third floor. Don't accept any offers of anyone that tries to intercept you on the way and make sure they use the taxi meter. They should do if you get the taxi from the proper rank. There might be an extra surcharge for an airport pick-up but it isn't too much. They will probably also ask you if you want to take the express toll-way. You should. You will have to pay an extra few baht for this but it will save you time. |
