Previously overstayed visa, how hard will it be to get back in? |
There was no problem with the immigration officials at the airport. I paid my 20K baht and got on the plane. Thing is, I had an emergency passport.. So that 'stamp' saying that I overstayed is not going to be on the new passport I need. Am I in a computer system? I really doubt this is an issue because I have seen people overstay 8 months, then the next year they were back in the country doing it again. But there could be something I am missing. Well, my bacground is that of specialized infantry unit in the Marine Corps.. Then my dad passed away and I got a big trust fund. I don't really have any 'skills' other than a college education and experience in warfare. I learned a good deal of Thai my first go over there, and want to learn a lot more. Can I get a job or anything 'productive' with just speaking both languages? If you were the one to bring this to light, and you paid your fine (or fee) and then departed, then this would not necessarily be a big problem for you. Not hard at all. I live and work in Thailand, and I have had an overstay of over a year. I left and re-entered the country the same day that I paid my 20,000 baht fine. Well don't bar a bar, think on where you can budget your money first and try and stick to the budget. |
