I'm going to Bangkok, Thailand soon, what should I buy?

Some Ideas please - I'm 13 too, if that helps.

I'm staying in the Indra Hotel. Across the road from the big wholesale market.

Ok, across in that market, you can get t-shirts at low prices. just remember that you can get a goo T for about 100baht, try not to pay more unless you really like it. If you buy more, the seller can give you more discount.

From your hotel, ask for the way to go to MBK Centre. On the 4th and 5th fl, I think you will find many things that can interest you, electronic games.

What things will interest you? In MBK, there are Thai foodstuff available on sale. You can pick up some local snacks too.

And there are a number of sneaker shops and sports shops in there too. Bring your parents for a browse.

Lucky you, Thailand is a very awesome place to visit due to their rich culture and history. Also, their cuisines are very unique amongst South East Asia and you should insisit on trying some while you stay.

As for shopping, you can get some great bargain in Thailand due to their currency if you shop at the right place. For example, you can find some very cheap clothes in flea markets. Also, other than brand name clothing, you can buy some great clothing for a good price in malls.

I also suggest buying some incense and traditional Thai body notions while you are there.

I am not sure if I should tell a 13 years old about this, but you can get all sorts of melee weapons such as brass knuckles, switchblades, butterfly knives, tasers, shurikens, nun-chuck, etc while you are in Thailand. The merchants sell these very openly and they don't care how old you are.

If you are staying at the Indra then you will love shopping for clothes. Right across the street is clothes market and you will need to have a good look around BEFORE chosing as there will be plenty to chose from.

Everything from head to toe will be available there.

Not too far away at Siam area are also the main shopping area with about half a dozen BIG malls where you will be overwhelm with eveything imaginable calling out to your wallet.

What should you buy? No one can tell you that. What do you want? Clothes? Toys? electronics? gifts? souvenirs? There are so much to chose from.
Just DO NOT grab the first thing you see. Go shop around FIRST , get prices and be willing to haggle - or get your parents to do it for you. As you rae 13 - haggling with an adult might seen arrogant to Thai people.
Show good manners and respect, Thai people are big on respect from young people. Impress them with your good manners and politeness and you will get more from Thai people.

Cheese to you
