I am planning to stay 3 nights in bangkok.. I am with another mate both 20, just want to know the good area's

Also want to know the good areas for shopping? I have been to thailand before and really enjoyed the markets there but haven't been to Bangkok

Siam Paragon (www.siamparagon.co.th) complex near Siam Square

Central World Plaza on Rajadamri Road that bills itself as the "largest lifestyle shopping complex in Southeast Asia."

I know a few more just can't think right now....

Along Sukhumvit Road is where you can find lots of interesting things, from nite market, to shops,, malls, hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and massage and spas. I guess the 3 days will be just right for you 2 to explore the length of this road.

Cheers, mate.

The Sukhumvit Road between Soi 1 to Soi 19 are good because

- many restaurants (western and Asian)
- good hotels (from cheap to expensive)
- many bars
- a lot of nightlife
- many shops (although the better ones are between the Skytrain stops Chitlom and National Stadium)
- the Skytrain which will bring you to many interesting places (cheap)
- the Underground (below the Skytrain stop Asok)

I would stay one night longer (4 nights). Bangkok has a lot to see.

There's a fantastic hotel in Nana Plaza, called 'Obsessions'.
It's not cheap but I'm sure it will suit you and the other residents will be delighted to help you with your shopping.

All along Silom Rd and Surawong Rd and the Pat Pong market that runs between them. If you need upscale items then the designer stores in Paragon and Central World. Also the slimey Jatujak market on weekends.

on sukhumvit road loer number sois ( lanes )

lots of shopping / good food /great nightlife
