Looking for info about Krabi/ Railau Bay and Phi Phi?

I'll be for 8 days in Thailand, thought to spend 2 in Bangkok and the rest on a lovely beach. Heard about Krabi and Phi Phi. Anyone can tell me how the best way to get from Bangkok to Krabi and from Krabi to Phi Phi? Anyone stayed at the Railay Bay Restort and spay? What is the weather there in mid March? Is it a save for a single female traveller? I know lots of questions but if you have an answer to any I highly appreciate it. Thanks

hi
James B as said alot of good things., personally, Phi Phi is poo poo these days....... WITHOUT the loss of life, the tsunami was the best thing ever to happen to phi phi. its over run and over rated ` these days`.... should have seen it in 92, 95, 97 ..however, I love krabi town , K guesthouse on chao fah rd is nice and cheap too . Railay is very noisey with longtail boats tick tick tick ticking away all day long, And you may meet your neighbour there ( or on phi phi poo poo ) There are many other islands around that area and over the other side (` gulf `). Yes it is safe for any traveller, these days , just take normal precautions that you would do at home or in a city at night. you will meet other single females. weather is nice, go get a tan. Enjoy

The best way to get to Krabi from Bangkok is to fly. I would recommend flying from the domestic airport (Don Muang). Don't worry about the cost of the flight, it is not expensive, and as you are a single female traveller, it is much safer.

You can take boats to Phi Phi and Railay from Krabi.

You will be safe at any of the three islands. Railay is quieter than Krabi, and has some spectacular views, but there is less to do. Phi Phi is beautiful, but is becoming congested.

I would recommend splitting time between Krabi and Railay and taking a day trip to Phi Phi.

You should be relatively safe, but please use common sense. There are actually a fair number of single female travellers who go to these islands.

Mid March will be really hot, but perfect beach weather. You might get a passing shower, but that time of year does not see much rainfall in that area.

I have not stayed at the resort you mentioned, but as there is much construction in the area, you may hear some loud noises early in the morning.
