Where is there to travel too in Taiwan?

Depends what you want, I couldn't possibly list all the places so I'll just mention a few likely contenders:

1. Taipei - night-markets, Taipei 101, dozens of department stores and shopping malls, National Palace museum, many high quality restaurants, Yang Ming National park (with hot springs),,,

2. Hualien (East coast), you can see Taroko Gorge - always mentioned as one of the most beautiful places on Earth - it's a massive gorge that has be cut out of marble and has beautiful rivers and waterfalls. You can go white water rafting as well, or go on a boat trip to see whales and dolphins.

4. Ali Shan - take the Japanese train up to the top of the mountain going through paddy fields, tropical forest, sub tropical forest, bamboo forest then finally evergreen forest - the views are always amazing and there are a few trails which are all beautiful.

5. Kending - a lively resort at the southern most tip of the island which just sits in the tropic of Cancer and is warm all year around - expect white sandy beaches, water sports and night activities.

There's so much more to do - I just ran these of the top of my head.
