What is driving distance from St. John's, NL to L'anse aux Meadows, NL?

It is close to 1000 km - it is about 600 km from St. John's to Deer Lake, where you turn north, and then close to 400 km up the northern peninsula to L'anse aux Meadows.

The distance is 1,059 km; that's longer than it is to Port-Aux-Basques! This will take you about 12 hours. Be very careful of moose on the Northern Peninsula. People generally spot around 30 to 40 between St. Anthony and Deer Lake. Only one real way to get there driving, that's the TCH to Deer Lake and the Great Northern Peninsula highway to St. Anthony then it's only a short drive to St-Lunaire-Griquet where L'anse aux Meadows is. If you have a distance limited rental car or just don't want to drive it yourself, you can take the DRL bus from Memorial University in St. John's to Deer Lake, where you can pick up the Viking Express to L'anse aux Meadows.
