Best Place to Screech In?

I'm taking my partner home to Newfoundland for his very first visit and I want to get him screeched in. What's the best place to do this? Is there any place left that still uses a cod instead of a stuffed puffin or something similar?

To my first respondent, a Screech In is a ceremony that makes people honorary Newfoundlanders.

If you are in St John's, try Trapper John's. They are one of the many (and I mean MANY) Bars on George Street. But there are a nice few that do it. Also, the Scademia boat tour is doing it as well. Best thing to do is to check and see what times they do the screeching in. Oh and they do use the COD, sometimes real, sometimes stuffed. I'd check around though and see what place would best suit you.

WHATTTTT????
What the heck are you talking about?

The Best place to Screech In is Trapper John's and its best with a group of people. Once screeched in, you also get a certificate to show that you are an honorary Newfoundlander, most other locations do not offer that. I believe they are still using the real COD but you may want to call before hand.

Trapper John's or go about 20 minutes south and you can do it out on O'Breins Whale Watching tours out in the ocean like a real fisherman.
