I am Visiting Cape Town this Christmas and was wondering if it is safe to walk down long street for dinner and

No, its not safe to walk down Long St, or any other. Best for you to get dropped off and picked up from any Restaurant, or if you keep the Booze down, drive to the Restaurant.
