Is now the best time to start a Braaivleis Restaurant Franchise Group?

would it not be a good idea to serve braaied food at a restaurant with potatoes and patats in foil, garlic bread etc??

Lol yes, bread with cheese, tomato and onions on that you braai on the fire as well is lekker, baie lekker saam met braaivleis

Your main problem is the time it takes to prepare most braaied food.
Customers are not willing to wait that long in a restaurant. If you can't serve it within about 20 minutes of placing order (the time it takes for people to drink one round of drinks) you'll have a lot of trouble selling it.

Add: I don't want to seem negative, but one must examine the potential problems in any business idea.
Seems like you have the preparation time solved. How fast could you turn around a table? We like to take our time over a braai. That would affect your potential turnover - forcing you to increase prices. Restaurants usually want to sell all their tables twice in an evening.

Lise K: I have eaten at the Walskipper a few times - the food is good but I wish it was more wheelchair friendly - and had faster service! LOL!

Very good idea but not unique in Hartenbos there is allready a "braaivleis restaurant" called Kobus se Gat, very nice. Roger what you seem to forget this is Africa.....everything is very slow here and with a nice bottle of wine or 2 I am prepared to wait an hour or more for some nice lamb chops and rib, potatoes in the fire, sosaties.....hmmm I am again starving today.........

Oh I almost forgot there is also a restaurant in Jeffreys Bay, Die Walskipper that only serves braaivleis and seafood on the coals.

Good idea Cakes, but then who is going to pay for a braai when you can braai at home or on the beach for free?
In Oz, there are braai restaurants where you pay for the meat but braai it yourself.
