Do you think it's true what they say about the languages?

Do you think it's true what they say about south african languages,The Nguni(Zulu,Xhosa,...) and Sotho(tswana, sotho, sepedi) languages: I have heard people say the Sotho languages sound nice and charming like the romance languages(french,italian,spanish,...) and the nguni languages are more like the Germanic languages(German,Dutch,Flemish,...) and that the people of these language are kind of similiar to the people of the language groups they are being associated with, for example the italians like clothes so do most tswana people, germans are stubborn so are most nguni people, is it me or do you guys see a similarity

Dont know...

But I am Tswana and love clothes.... But I think thats got more to do with being a woman than being Tswana. I hear a lot of white people say Zulu sounds like Italian. I've never heard any similarities.

A lot of my Zulu mates think Pedi sounds rude, as if they are swearing, plus a lot of the Sotho languages are spoken real fast. I love Xhosa though, its so expressive and the accent nice.

I love my language too... When we do ads for radio our star voice artist sounds like he is singing. I love my job...sigh.

no but the french are de rudest weeeeee

I don't know....what I know is that French has a big influence on how Sesotho language is written.....maybe it's because Moshoeshoe's foreign minister was a French.....

NO Sorry but there is absolutely no coloration's, between African languages and with European, but keep wishing....

Well I really cannot say because the only african language I can speak (a very little bit) is Xhosa.....and all that clapping of the tongue and thci sound like in Xhosa....is very difficult for me and I must say it doesnt sound like any European language I know. I think African especially South African languages are unique. Perhaps the French learnt to roll their "R's" from the Sotho's or vice versa.

Err..... dunno, I speak Italian but I do know that a lot of the sounds in Xhosa (except the clicks) are similar to Italian!!!!

German is like nguni? I don't think so pal! What are your sources, if any?

What "they" say is missing the target by miles in my opinion.

This is the first time i have heard this. Interesting.

Edit. M.C What have you been smoking?! Afrikaans is African and it is derived from many European languages such as Dutch & German.

Never heard this. Are you for real?
The only similarity in language that i heard of is Afrikaans is similar to Dutch and/or German.

germanic and romance languages are more close each other than with this african languages

by the way germanic and romance languages arent very different each other , they are indo-european , and are very close each other ..

like french have a strongly germanic influences ..
that say to a german says the name "ariel" adn a french says "ariel"
there would be no differences between the two pronounciations..

sometimes some romance languages are very very close to germanic ones

spanish : is = es
french : is =est
german: is = ist

^^
