What is it like in Sheffield?

It looks a nice place to live. If I was going to live there, in which areas should I look to buy a house and which areas should I avoid?

A bit odd but I was looking a Chesterfield as a second choice. I enjoy walking and its close to the Peak district.

Any tips on Chesterfield then?

I live in Sheffield, I generally think It's a nice place to live and there are some really nice areas just outside of Sheffield aswell. Areas such as Hillsborough, Ecclesall and Stocksbridge I've heard are quite nice.... but you have to remember there's good and bad areas in each one!

I like Sheffield but there are some areas you should avoid. I don't really know much about it but there is a nice sad and then a nasty side near the Manor estate part! You could always come live in Chesterfield :-p lol

Sheffield is OK and there's nothing wrong with us Yorkshire folk.there are good and bad parts in every city you go to and some alot worse than Sheffield.try visiting www.upmystreet.co.uk it will tell you the area info eg;crime figures,house prices etc.

dont go to sheffield , its good for gigs and live music and the bands that have come outta it but try and avoid it at all costs unless you want to get shot LITERALLY
