Seychelles (pronounced /se瑟藞蕛蓻l/ or /se瑟藞蕛蓻lz/ ["say shells"] in English and IPA: [se蕛蓻l] in French), officially the Republic of Seychelles (French: R茅publique des Seychelles; Creole: Repiblik Sesel), is an archipelago nation of 155 islands (115 islands and 40 islets) in the Indian Ocean, some 1,500 km east of mainland Africa, northeast of the island of Madagascar. Other nearby island countries and territories include Zanzibar to the west, Mauritius and R茅union to the south, Comoros and Mayotte to the southwest, and the Suvadives of the Maldives to the northeast. Seychelles has the smallest population of any sovereign state of Africa.

Seychelles is hot and humid, with an average yearly temperature of 84掳F (29掳C), and average sea temperature rarely dropping below 81掳F (27掳C). However, the heat is usually mitigated by refreshing sea breezes, especially by the beaches. The cooler season in Seychelles is during the southeast monsoon season (late May to September) and the warmer season is during northwest monsoon (March to May). Northwest monsoon season tends to be hot and rainy while the southeast monsoon season is usually drier and cooler.

As for hotels, you may stay at Ste Anne Resort (in Mah茅), Le Limuria (in Praslin).

I'm a seychelloise (local), the temperature here in december is nice. Its 28 to 31 degrees celcius all year round. During monsoon season there are some winds but its still nice.

All our islands I consider beautiful. Mahe' is the main island, and is pretty populated. Praslin is not as populated, la digue is a great lil get away from the hustle and bustle, where you can ride in ox carts, there are very little vehicles on la digue. The beaches on mahe i love are Anse Soliel and Beau Vallon which also has life guards. I live at Anse Forbans. On Praslin we have the world famous Anse Lazio, with beautiful white sand and gorgeous water.

The best hotels are hard to choose, there are so many. And many more being built. I have listed some hotel sites below.
Is your budget for a daily cost or for your whole stay and also how long are you staying. I must admit here in seychelles hotels are very expensive, so some people tend to stay at self catered chalets. If you would like more help please feel free to contact me on here. The first link seynews has many more links to hotels and other places its free to join and you can join on a temp or permanent basis. Good luck and please enjoy our nation..hope i helped alittle

I'm responding, not to answer your question necessarily, but to say I've never heard of Seychelles; and was just curious why you were vacationing there? Could you respond in your edited details?

Thanks,

Wotan
