Has Anyone Ever Been to the Maldives or Seychelles?

I'm a scuba diver and I travel solo. Anyone ever been on liveaboard dive boats in either place....or stayed at a nice resort you can recommend to me? I live in southern Calif., USA. Long journey to get there as well! Best time of year? For Diving?
