If Saudi Arabia allows Israeli Arabs entry for Hajj but forbids Jews entry, then is the reasoning race based?

The headline:
Israelis Embark on Journey to Mecca

The snip:
Saudi Arabia is expecting more than two million visitors this month for the annual Hajj, a momentous event in the Muslim calendar.

The four-day pilgrimage brings together Muslim worshippers from all corners of the globe to take part in an event that every able Muslim must carry out at least once in his or her lifetime.

As in previous years, there will be pilgrims from a most unlikely destination: some 4,500 Muslims have departed for Mecca from their homes in Israel, a Jewish country with no diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia.

wolfkarew,
My question was not clear enough. I'll blame it on Yahoo! Answers' limited space. LOL.

What I meant to ask is why are Israeli Muslim Arabs (not limited to Palestinians) allowed entry into Saudi Arabia and Israeli Jews are not?

See the article. The Israeli Arabs enter through Jordan for the hajj. But, Israeli Jews have no chance to get into the country. I understand that no non-Muslim could get into Medina or Mecca. But, why aren't Israelis permitted to enter the other areas of the KSA regardless of their race/religion? Is this decision based solely on race or solely on religion?

I hope that clarifies the question. Feel free to "edit" your answer or send me an email.

Dear Nobody,

on the first half of the matter (Hajj) you need to mention only the religion, meaning that any moslim has the right to go to haj even if Saudi government has problems with his country, any other religion is not allowed to enter the two holy cities (religious law).

on the secoond half don't mention the religion but mention the country. why?because if a jewish southafrican has business to do in jeddah/riyadh or any other city (ex the two holy ones) he will not be banned from getting in but an isreaili person will be. why? because saudi government is boycoting the israielie one because of the phalastenian land conflict.

i hope this answers your question.
but FYI race doesn't belong to country it belongs to larger areas may be belongs to contenents, there is no english race, their is no chinese race but their is yellow asian race and coucasian and others.
cuz israilie is not a race it's suposed to be a nationality (we dis agree)

one last thing, all israel's arabs are phalastenians cuz they are the origional owners of the land and they were given the citizen ship of israel on 1948. we call them arabs of 48.

i would say it's not. No person, that is not of the Muslim faith is allowed to enter the hajj. The person could be Christian, Buddhist, or hindu. They would have no better of a chance to enter as a Israelian jew

Your probably thinking Palestinian Arabs. No one who is not Muslim is allowed entry into Mecca and Medina. No one who has an Israeli passport or Israeli citizenship is allowed entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. If they tried they would be deported ASAP.

Only Muslims are allowed to enter the hajj.

Peace

so.. by your question.. you are racializing the jews?.. I thought being a jew is not a race issue. its a religious issue...
and to your question... Islam isnt racial,, its got nothing to do with your citizenship of any country.. an Israeli jew is not a muslim.. so why does he need to visit Mecca and make hajj? its not a jewish rite... but an Israeli muslim can.. so NO its note a racial issue..

Guess the part of your question regarding Hajj and religious places is answered.

Regarding Sherbeney's answer. Saudi Arabia does not acknowledge the State of Israel and therefore does not allow Jews enter the country not matter what's their nationality. American Jews are not to allowed to work in KSA as contractors and in the past it even happened that some French pilots were not allowed to fly with the airline into KSA because they were Jews. Some American Jews took their cases to court in the US and lost it.

It's just the way it is. Take care.

Jews are not allowed into Saudi Arabia, because they are seen as "dirty" by the Saudis.

Anyone who is not Muslim is not allowed to enter. In the past many non-Muslims had tried to harm and damage the area. That's why due to security,non-Muslims are not allowed. It doesn't have anything to do with race. It's the same if Muslims tried to go to some parts of Israel they won't be allowed. But anyone can enter a regular mosque if they want to learn about Islam. Hajj is a requirement for Muslims,so anyone who is not Muslim will not need to go.

As a rule it is difficult to go to Saudi-Arabia to begin with. The Saudi government practically hand-picks the people they allow in. Given half the chance to do so without upsetting the whole country they would love to expel all the expats working there.

There are quite a number of people out there who will never get a visa to Saudi Arabia in their lifetimes (me included, though I am muslim) and Israeli Jews happen to be one category. Saudi Arabia gives Hajj and Umrah visa, business visa and visitor's visa. Israeli Jews would need to get visitor's visa which is the hardest to get in the first place. Unless you have relatives in SA or are male and of Arab descent your chances of getting a visitor's visa are almost zero.
