Is Saudi Arabia a nice place to live in?

Is Saudi Arabia a nice place to live in?

The phrase " A nice place to live in" is actually too broad to reply with.

First of all, you have to define the reasons why you are going to Saudi in the first place. Most of the answers are really because of work. If your reason is to work and save, then - SAUDI is the BEST place on Earth !!!

Saudi culture, economy, society, etc. will allow you to earn as much as you can and save at the same time since the society and culture does not allow most of western cultures which are generally cost ans expenses genererating matters.

Besides from being a tax free country (as any of the GCC) accomodations, water & electricity, cars, insurance, health, etc are provided by the employers.

RAMADAN is a nice experience as well because it offers the non-muslims a chance to look back at the lives they are having & the way they are living with it. RAMADAN will give opportunities for everybody to detach in someway the earthly offerings in this world like cigarettes, too much foods, etc.

And the best thing I think - is the opportunity for a family to be really a family! The opportunity for the family to be together, to eat together in one table, to spend time and listen to each other, to bond with your siblings, parents, etc and to have the opportunity to see the Saudi ways and cultures which are really different from what the western world and the media is portraying in the WEST.

We know waht life in the West is - certainly life in Saudi is something worth discovering by yourself...

Good luck!!!

Depends on your definition of "nice"...
If you want a country that has high moral values then yes..
But there is no "clubbing" scenes.. No disco's, no bars, no alcohol, no theaters, no mixing of the gender (no dating), no pork products..
Otherwise its a nice family atmosphere, good moral standards for raising children.. Low crime, there are social events that take place, so you wont be bored. Its got a small tourist trade, there are landmarks you can visit..
its really hot during the summer months, so you need to be ready for that.. like 40C 120F.. ..
Women cant drive, but you are free to use buses, and taxi's to go whereever you please..
the shopping is wonderful.. items here you wont find anywhere else, they import from all over the world..
So to each there own.. you might like it here, you might hate it..
