Why was slavery only banned in 1962 in Saudi Arabia?

And why does it's practise still exist in the treatment of migrint workers today

And leading Saudi scholars such as Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan
support slavery and say that
"Slavery is a part of Islam"
and that those that are against slavery are "
ignorant, not scholars. They are merely writers. Whoever says such things is an infidel."

Like I told you before: there are always some foul apple on the tree. But - please do not generalize!

You just hear only one side of the story. But to be fair, you should hear both sides, right?

You see things through your "west eyes" and I do not blame you for that. But society and culture are different over here.

Take care

Same with polygamy. Some said polygamy is part of Islam rules. But some scholars said polygamy is not Islamic teaching, so it must be banned.
Slavery was there during the Prophet era, but many scholars can stand up and said that slavery is unislamic!
I don't understand why those scholars cannot do the same thing about polygamy. Maybe because many of them do practice polygamy too.

BTW, treating housemaids or other workers like a slave is not good from any point of view. Sadly said, this is also a fact of life in Saudi.

for the same reason that Israelis prejudice against non-Jews and considers them less human.

Slavery is not a part of Islam. As a matter of fact the teachings of Islam support freeing slaves even as part of redemption. Our Prophet (PBUH) has so many teachings about freeing slaves. now the question of why has it taken so long to abolish slavery in this region is not one of religion but of ancient culture. Consider this, the USA only had slavery for a relatively short period of time compared to this part of the world. Yet look how quickly some areas became economically dependent on it, and culturally attached. Even for such a short period of time our country was ready for and did go to war to abolish it. Now consider that dark side of human nature and apply several thousands of years of slavery. Since our earliest recorded human history, this region is a place slow to accept change. Either in thinking or culture. Those that don't have (usually the poor) cannot just tell those that do have (usually the rich and powerful), ok, we decided you can't have anymore. Changes of traditions embedded that deep into a culture take time and are often painful. Things are changing for the better. But painfully slow. As far as what that 'scholar' says about it, I can only quote Forrest Gump, "Stupid is as Stupid does".

when the world did it they did it
it has nothing with islam if islam against slavery why islam didnt banned it 1400 years ago
and yes "Slavery is a part of Islam"
even NOW they call black people slaves <abeed> in arabic

With a tribal system. slavery was a normal lifestyle.
