Is the Inter-Continental Hotel (Sao Paulo, Brazil) in a good location and safe?

Want to stay there the night before our cruise of South America. How far is the Port where the cruise ships dock at.
And how much would a cab be to the port from the Inter-Continental and how safe are they?

The InterContinental is located a few blocks from the city business, entertainment, dining, and nightlife.

It is in Jardins neighborhood, a really nice and safe neighborhood.

But, the Port is in Santos, about 1:30h far....I think taxis are really expensive here would be more than 200R$!!

My suggestion: Go to Jabaquara (bus terminal) and take the bus to Santos...Less than 30R$ for sure.
