Fun things for my boyfriend and I to do over the holidays in the San Jose area? |
We are in our mid 20's and want some new things to do in the evenings and on weekends. Nothing too expensive, but something different. Something besides your typical dinner and a movie... There are a lot of fun clubs in downtown San Jose. You will bump into one if you just choose a direction and go. I also like the hookah lounge - but if you're not a smoker, that can be bleh and boring. Santana Row can be a blast to wander around in - but keep an eye on where you go, things can be expensive there. If you do go downtown, you MUST go see the Art Museum. It's wonderful there. San Jose State also has the new King Library, which is great to walk around. hav fun Take a drive around Willow Glen, look at the displays of Christmas lights. We always do this on one night in the Christmas season. It really puts us in the mood! drive around in neighborhoods and look at the house decorations. fun thing to see how much people work on delighting us with their lights. gather some friends and go Christmas caroling, to people you know, family members, senior centers and convalescent homes... go to the fire station, police station and sing a song for them....go to a comedy club and enjoy yourselves. go to the dollar store and pick some $1. gifts for boys and girls, [they have tons of kid stuff] coloring books, candy etc.. wrap them up and go to a target or kmart store and while parent is present give them a gift for Christmas... you could wrap one color for the boys and one color for the girls... at the same time, you could give seniors a gift. [you can find plenty of things for the seniors] i do this every year and it is fun to see the kids and seniors smile... theres a restaurant in santa cruz where everything is chocolate Go to Christmas in the Park in downtown San Jose. Take the light rail and enjoy the scenery. |

The State is very long, and if you plan on visiting the Northern part of the State, I would suggest you see the Giant Sequoia trees, at ... i would prefer to select tickets on www.kayak.com or www.sidestep.com these websites are kind of search engines and they don't sell tickets by themselves. They find the site which is offering ... 7 to 10 days is the norm for first class mail which goes from the west to the east coasts, regardless of the time of year. Right now, things are slower because of Christmas, and because of the weat... |
