Where is a good snow park for young kids close to bay area ca.? sorry try tahoe Up on highway 80, towards Lake Tahoe, there are several snow parks, all great, but it is a three hour or so drive. That is the closest snow to San Francisco. Anywhere in the Sierras. Tahoe, Truckee, Donner Lake, Yosemite, etc, etc, etc... have snow. The further north the more. Tahoe/Truckee/Donner area has the easiest access, as it's a popular tourist destination, so the roads are well maintained and clear. Also, most anywhere before you get all the way to Tahoe, once you're in the mountains, will have snow. So if you don't wanna make the full trip, you can always go up to Nevada City, Colfax, etc... and you'll have some options. Or even Auburn, which is only a few miles away from the mountains but tends not to get snow itself. Everyone else is right on about where to go. If you want even closer, pray of do some weather dance outside so we get an extreme cold front and the local mountains have been known to get dusted with snow- Mt Diablo, Mt. Hamilton etc. Few weeks ago they had some snow! All gone now since it has felt like spring. |
